Income from The Naval Aviation Memorial IMAX Theater helps maintain the Naval Aviation Museum Foundation; thereby allowing 100% of every donated dollar to be used for it's donated purpose. When you purchase a ticket and attend a movie, you receive pleasure on two levels: the entertainment and enjoyment of seeing an IMAX movie and supporting a national treasure.

The Naval Aviation Memorial Theater is one of the largest IMAX® theaters in the world. It has a seating capacity of 525 with an additional 9 viewing areas for the mobility impaired. It took nearly 2 years to construct the theater and Museum entrance. It contains 690 tons of structural steel and 1,990 cubic yards of concrete.

The screen in the theater is 62 feet high and 82 feet wide. The screen itself weighs over 600 pounds and is stretched over a structure called the screen tower, weighing over 5 tons. The screen is so big that an F/A-18 jet or a humpback whale can be seen larger than life-size. The lamphouse in the projector utilizes one 15,000 watt liquid-cooled short-arc xenon lamp. For the sound system, 15,000 watts of power are supplied by 16 amplifiers feeding 1 1/2 tons of speakers.
